Questionary®
is a party game that has beaten all other top selling party games in
our several trials.
On a scale of 1 to 10, trial participants rated other popular
games between 5 and 7.6, whereas they rated Questionary
at 8.5!
A very significant observation that we have made during our
trials is, even the not-very-extrovert kind of people, who otherwise
shied away from playing other games, wanted to play Questionary again
and again.
The game of Questionary is simple and educational.
It teaches you the art of elimination. Elimination of unworthy
options to reach the worthy one.
How
is the game played?
The
basic concept is very simple. You
pick a card that has a word on it.
Your team has to guess the word within 90 seconds by asking you
any question and as many questions as they like.
But the catch is, you can only answer in 'Yes' and 'No'. A few
more answers like ‘May be’ or ‘I don’t know’ are allowed for
obvious reasons. If your team cracks the word, it wins and rolls a
dice to move its pawn on the scoreboard.
There are bonus points for difficult words! Words have been
very carefully selected to have fun & challenge together.
This
simple concept has to be seen in action to believe what it can achieve
in terms of generating fun and excitement.
Why
“The Game of Smart Questions”?
As
you can see, you answer Yes or No to the questions from your team. The
skill of guessing the word thus lies totally with the team and the way
they ask questions. A
smart question would seek to eliminate a range of categories if
answered ‘NO’ and would try to get closer to the specific
word, if
answered ‘YES’. For example answer to a question like “Is the
object metallic?” will either eliminate a range of objects or will
point towards a more specific category of objects.
It’s
a great game, but why? A
psychological analysis.
There
are several board games in the market, however, only very few are very
popular. Most of these games require individuals to perform or show
some skill.
However, introvert people or people who do not like drawing,
sculpturing, acting etc or are not wizards, do not want to play these games and think that
the game is boring.
On the other hand, Questionary is a team game, which does not depend
on the skill level of an individual player. In fact, the team member
who is picked to be the performer or responder, actually does nothing
but say ‘yes’ or ‘no’ or ‘I don’t know’.
As there is nothing to perform, no one shies away from being a
responder. It’s the team
that is more active in guessing the word. In most other games where a
person has to actively do or perform something in front of a group, a
shy person becomes very conscious and simply opts
out of the game. of the game.
